Our Story

As the years went on, Gino focused on growing the catering business, serving local offices, events, and family gatherings throughout Union City and surrounding areas. At the same time, La Bella became a lunchtime staple for the neighborhood, earning a loyal following of regulars who return day after day.

Union City has changed over the decades, but La Bella Salumeria has remained. Today, we are proud to be the last standing Italian deli in Union City, continuing to serve the residents and hardworking people who keep the city running—teachers, police officers, firefighters, EMTs, DPW workers, and generations of local families.

As we look ahead to 2026, we are honored to celebrate a major milestone: 50 years of La Bella Salumeria. While much has changed around us, our commitment has not. We continue to focus on fresh food, authentic Italian flavors, and the same welcoming atmosphere that has defined our deli for nearly five decades.
